They have some nice clothes and this is a wordless story with each frame just about life of the prune people. It doesnt seem to make a story. The Prune People is one of my least favorite of all of Edward Gorey's books. This wordless volume consists of drawings of people whose heads are large prunes.

Literally faceless, the people in the drawings strike me as gimmicky rather than intriguing, and I was surprised to find that I have little interest in creating stories in my head based on the situations depicted.

On Prune: “I fell in love with the restaurant the moment I walked in. I was in New York for the James Beard awards—Tartine Bread was nominated for the photography—and I invited my mom to be my date.

The night before, she took me to her ‘favorite restaurant’ in the city. It was a tiny spot where thirty people eat shoulder to shoulder. Well, Gabrielle Hamilton's Prune isn't one of those cookbooks. After establishing Prune, one of New York's most beloved neighborhood restaurants, more than a decade ago, Hamilton went on to win.
